Who are we?
The evangelic e-elim church
of Thonon, is a part of the large Pentecostal movement (Elim
Pentecostal Church). It was established in 1915 in the United
Kingdom through the ministery of Georges Jeffreys's, and today approximately
9000 churches are represented all over the world.
The name
" Elim " comes from the biblical book of Exodus. The Israelites were
exhausted and discouraged after their release from Egyptian
slavery. On their route towards the country promised by Canaan, they
arrived at a place called Elim. It was an oasis in the desert where there
were 12 springs of waters and 70 palm trees (Exodus 15:27).
In France there are several Elim churches unified under
the UEEEF*, and which are part of the Protestant Federation of
France. The e-elim church of Thonon-les-Bains was established in June, 2002
by Minister Luc Favre.
